It is an obvious fact that women constitute at least 50% of any society. A Bird cannot fly on one wing. A society cannot function without active co-operation and participation of women. For the progress of the society improvement of both men & women are equally necessary.
Section of women cannot be ignored in any society. It is urgent that women especially rural women should be empowered socially, economically, educationally and even technologically.
This is the back drop (background) in which the constitution of women have to be viewed. In a society, group behavior is of great importance and necessary for societal and individual progress. Governmental programmes focusing on social development is more often done through women of Self Help Group.
