Synopsis

In India, the innovation of Microteaching has been introduced in Teacher’s Training Institutions. The National Council of Teacher Education, in the document Teacher Education Curriculum – A Framework reinstated the need to strengthen the Microteaching programme. Instructional materials in the form of books, training packages, microteaching multimedia-kit, microteaching film strips, and microteaching films, have been prepared in English, and also in many regional languages. Various agencies like UGC, NCERT, SCERTs, Universities, etc. have directly or indirectly supported the programme of training through the approach.
The present book focuses on the history of microteaching, concept, need, importance, various skills of microteaching, objectives, importance of feedback in microteaching, need of different Appraisals, Simulation-Based Education, and Microteaching Clinic are explained to fulfill the curiosity of the teachers and teacher-trainees in the training program of skill development. The research conducted in different areas cover the conceptual aspects of Microteaching, as well as, provide empirical answers to some important questions. The surveys of research in India indicate that area of research has caught the attention of researchers. There is much more scope for research exploration in this area. We hope that this book will stimulate the required efforts. Micro lesson plans & important questions are also provided. We hope that the readers will find this book of immense use and stimulate the required efforts.
