The present book is an attempt to analyze the representation of women in the novels of Manju Kapur. The book deals with how women have been marginalized in Indian society, not only by men but also by other women. It talks about marginalization of women on the basis of caste, class and other markers of identity. It addresses the issues of suppression of women along with their resistance against the marginalization. Further, it focuses on how female characters have opposed the system of domination. The book tries to find out the feministic perspective, the feminist politics and the tradition of feminist fiction in India with reference to Manju Kapur and her selected novels.
