Environmental Science

This book on “Environmental Science” is based on the syllabus prescribed by UGC. At present we need to give importance to the
environment as we depend on it to satisfy our basic needs. The unsustainable use of our precious natural resources has depleted the quality the air, water and soil and this has resulted in various current environmental issues. Scientists have predicted that in the next decade, climate change may degrade the environment to a significant extent. Hence, awareness on the current state of the environment is of primary concern. Realizing this, UGC has prescribed environmental studies to be included in the UG syllabus.

This book is based on that syllabus and we believe that this book will benefit teachers and students. The subject matter is presented in a simple way and in each unit end, multiple choice questions and answers were added. We present this book with high enthusiasm and great expectation to provide environmental awareness among student community. We expect constructive criticism to improve this book.
