Synopsis

The COVID-19 pandemic has quickly transformed the world of industry. Every day the immediate effects of the pandemic are clear. However, it will have far-reaching economic environmental, social and technological implications, likely to affect every sector and could have lasting impacts on business worldwide. This brief first discusses the 2020 and 2021 estimates of economic activity and the domestic and international factors that will restrict and encourage a future recovery. It includes expanding financial inclusion to aged, rural and disadvantaged citizens. It also seeks to facilitate digital transformation across society.
