Generally, the students of applied chemistry particularly Pesticide Chemistry do not prepare for careers in the chemistry but require the background required in other fields viz. biology, household chemistry and industrial chemistry to name but a few several students might like to study chemistry to add to their general education in sciences. The main temptation in writing this text was to present some aspects of applied chemistry. Keeping in view of pertinent needs of students of Home Science and applied Chemistry. Topics which are particularly of interest to graduate students learning in pesticides are presented in detail. The book “Pesticide Chemistry (Skill Enhancement Course)” published by KD Publications has been written strictly according to syllabus prescribed by Jammu University and GCW Parade Jammu for B. Sc. Semester IV students.
The text is easily comprehensible and lucid in style. A balance between principles and applications between rigor and implification that seems most appropriate for these students is kept in view. An emphasis is laid to furnish sufficient background chemistry for each of the topics in order that applications are considered in a context where students have acquired sufficient understanding of pertinent principles.
